Yet for actor, writer, producer, and director Kaniehtiio (GANYE-dee-yo) Horn, comedy is a force that can be used to better the lives of herself and others. \u201cHow would we get this far if we were just walking around angry?\u201d she remarks from her home on the Kahnaw\u00e0:ke Mohawk reserve south of Montreal. Exhibited globally, her art is centred on Indigenous narratives\u2014told through film, photography, performance, and mixed-media installations\u2014to challenge stereotypes and diagnose the symptoms of colonial legacies. \u201cThe core themes of my practice rest in ideas of spirit, land, social justice, and representation,\u201d she says. Wanuskewin is also on Canada\u2019s tentative list for becoming a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a first for Saskatchewan.<\/p>\n<p>At Wanuskewin, Lessard combines her M\u00e9tis heritage and her passion
